Over the past six years we have enjoyed the benefits of an overseas player. These have invariably added a great deal to the club, both in terms of their playing ability and their effect on the club "spirit", especially with the colts and younger members. Our first overseas player was Jonte Bester, a South African. |

The following year, we enjoyed the company of Ashley Hudson. Ashley was a great success, scoring 618 League runs and taking lots of wickets. |

The following year we were joined by Brett Lydeamore. Brett made an instant impression, scoring hardly any runs in the early parts of a damp start to the 2001 season. However the Australian Grade "A" player soon found his feet and scored prolifically. He needed 360 runs to become the first player to score 1000 League runs from his last three matches, In a golden spell, he scored 129, 108 and 127* to reach 1004 runs for the season - still a League record. |

Since returning to Australia, Brett and Fleur have become a the proud parents of Keely. They still keep in regular contact with the club. Brett shows off his SCCC sponsored addition to the family! |

Another Melbourne player joined us for the 2002 season, Matt Cox. Despite his youth, Matt topped the division six batting averages with 710 runs at an average of nearly 60. He spent the tour week sleeping on the sofa, and only made his bed once during the week. Here he can be seen drinking his post match yard of ale! |

It was back to the Hudson family for 2003 with Mark Hudson, Ashley's younger brother. Mark scored 909 league runs at an average of nearly 57. |

Another Melborne player has joined us this year. Mick McCoy is a bowling all-rounder who played last year for Benfleet in the Essex League. He already had some success with both bat & ball, and has been instrumental in our push for promotion this year. |
