Unfortunately Barry Auburn has passed away. Barry was a member of Compton Cricket Club which merged with Southgate County Old Boys to form Southgate Compton Cricket Club in 1970. In those days players generally did not have their own bat, pads etc so there was a club bag and Barry was the Equipment Officer. He was a left-handed bat with a fine cover driver and played until the early 1980's when he became a Vice President. He was a frequent visitor to the club in the 80's and 90's and supported President's Day and latterly the VP's Lunches.
