Southgate Compton is a friendly, family-orientated local cricket club, much like "village clubs" of old. We play league, friendly and colts cricket and are based in Cockfosters, on the borders of Hertfordshire and Middlesex. The clubhouse, which includes a bar, changing and catering facilities, is in Chalk Lane within an easy walk of Cockfosters tube.

We currently run 2 Saturday sides who play in the Saracens Hertfordshire League. The 1st XI have consolidated their position in division 5, after promotion in 2009, finishing one place below promotion last year. Our youthful 2nd XI have been promoted to division 11, and will continuing to develop players for the future, whilst competeting to move further up the divisions. On Sundays we run a regular friendly side, plus a development side some weekends for our younger players.

We have an annual tour to Devon, which is always great fun. The tour, of 4 fixtures against Devon clubs, is still going strong after 50 years.

We provide an extensive coaching and training programme for our Colts, aged 8 to 15. This starts with indoor training in the spring, before moving on to Monday night sessions during the season. Our Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s play in the Middlesex Colts Leagues and Cups.

We are a very social club, with events organised regularly at the clubhouse such as quizzes, games nights and barbecues. The annual awards night is held in the autumn. We held our first Fun Day last year, a great success bringing the senior and junior sides together, which we will continue.
